About Me

Hello! I’m Ryan Patel, a Principal Cloud Solutions Architect at NetApp, where I’m part of the team building NetApp’s Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) practice. I help customers run enterprise workloads and data on OCI, from VMware migrations to AI-ready data platforms, without re-architecting what already works.

Before joining NetApp, I spent six years inside OCI on the Oracle Cloud VMware Solution (OCVS) team. While there, I helped co-develop and validate NetApp’s first-party storage service on OCI, so I now get to keep building on that work from NetApp’s side of the partnership.

My career spans over 25 years of designing and delivering enterprise data center and hybrid-cloud architectures, starting with VMware in 2001. I’ve worked across pre-sales, solution architecture, and partner co-selling with global systems integrators, always focused on connecting deep technical design to real business outcomes.

I’m honored to be recognized as a VMware vExpert and vExpert PRO, and I proudly serve as a VMUG Leader for the Dallas/Fort Worth region, bringing practitioners together to share knowledge and solve real-world problems.
